Hi all,

Don't know where to put this but in here ''Uniforms and Equipment'' looks O.K...

As many of you saw at Beltring my uniform isn't too bad :!: BUT :!: what is correct when it comes to the small detail-Buttons?

Is it best to replace buttons to originals where needed?

Is the SMALL 4 hole dish buttons O.K for shirts. Since I have just spent at Beltring £10.00 on 10 original 4 hole small metal dish buttons for my S.O.F shirt.

Thanks,
Nathan

Thanks,

Hi,

I was also wondering if cotton shirts are O.K rather then the knit type (it's an S.O.F cotton one with their lable removed).

Thanks,
Nathan

Hi Nathan,
saw you at Beltring,i was the medic.
Cotton shirts were issued aswell as knited type.
Metal buttons were used but of a small size(14 mm),press paper buttons are far more common. What type were on the shirt when you got it? 17mm metal buttons mainly used on trousers.

all the best
Willi

Hi,

I was going to ask if Pz.Fus.Rgt.GD need another medic in one or two years time. I could be one?

Should I ''make do'' with what i've got-an S.O.F shirt with replaced original buttons or get a knit type (which I like more) and replace the buttons on that to the ones I've got? Where can you get the Wool/Rayon Knit type of shirt in the U.K? It had grey plastic buttons!

I am also looking to sell my Sturm tunic and some other bits get a Janke tunic from Extra Klasse.

If I am going tho do this it's the sooner the better. Only 1 and 1/2 years till I could join.

Thanks,
Nathan

Hi Nathan

Regarding a role as a sani, we can discuss that around the time you may wish to join. There's a little way to go before then and the needs of the unit will, to an extent, dictate what role you may play.

Regards the shirt, I wouldn't concern yourself too much with that at present, just enjoy your collecting. You can pick a quality shirt up at any time.

All the best
