I am not terribly genned up on the details of the late war GD western front actions. I can find out but will need a night or two to flick through my books. As I recall, the GD Training and Replacement Brigade GD was torn apart at its home bases around Cottbus by the Soviet offensive towards the Oder. The training battalions either went straight into action against the Soviets, or were moved towards the Hamburg/Schleswig Holstein area, where training of GD recruits was to carry on. However, they too soon found themselves in action, against the British as they pushed into Northern Germany. I have not read of a GD E u A Abt. being based in Holland, but they certainly were in action very close to it.
One British report on their actions in this Northwestern part of Germany in the spring of 1945 speaks of them 'bumping' "SS troops from the 'Grossdeutschland Division"', presumably the cuff title confused the report writer?
