hi all , some of you may remember me , im Kurt ( ex-916 ) , and i dare say most of the membership of GD have brought various bits of uniform and kit off me over the years ( had it all 4 times , then sold it all 4 times )
i thought i`d sign up to the forum because the itch for the dark side still burns deep within ...... it could be wind !
yet again i`m going to collect a small amount of german uniform and kit , just to satisfy the itch you understand .
cheers , kurt .

cheers for the welcome lads
no Bauer , you cannot have my belt ....... i haven't brought it yet to sell it !
i hope to get the basic stuff together over the remaining part of this year , i had a look at Dickie underbrushes site , the uniforms seem a lot cheaper than i remember .
and no worries about the soviet kiss of death , i put it to them that if they get to close during the presentation , they would wake up a long time after the presentation so i don't get bothered by ray now . ( i just get the vodka instead )
cheers , kurt .

come to think of Bauer , you could sell me a full set of combat kit
whilst im on the subject , where would be the best place to buy the best repro or original kit ? a lot of the easier bits to get ( water bottles , bread bags ) seem to be well over priced or unavailable .
looking forwards to a reply on this one . cheers , kurt .

Firstly, I have instructed the Webmeister to remove that abonimation of an avatar!
As for kit, because I am not looking round for it, I tend to lose track. I would only be able to suggest the usual suspects mate. You know the score, you have provided them with probably 25% of their turnover for the last 10 years!
I was unaware that certain items such as canteen and messtins are scarce/overpriced. Surely you have a messtin that you use in 2nd Guards, or do you use one of those cr*p Russian ones? If there are certain items you need, you could do worse than go to Fitos. If he has the kit, you will get it at a more favourable price. He is linked to our site.
Cheers

I would check out the 'for sale' sectiond on the Axis reenactors forum or the WWII reenactors forum. I may have a spare original water bottle if your interested, also another one that needs a little bit of leather work fixing if you are handy with your hands
Please could you buy a Panzerfaust as I am after one and as I seem to buy most of my kit off you, it makes Finacial sense, for me anyway, to continue this arrangement.

whats wrong with my ava........ oh yes , i will try to find one which has the correct feel to it , but resizing is a bit of a bugger for me . as for the uniform , i think i will stick with dickie underpants ( ) as for the kit , i need just about everything really
ron , shopping with you would be a pleasure and i had been renacting the so called dark side for around 22 years , was one of the early GD guys ( i ,think im right in saying that , but check with max )
if you have basic belt order kit for sale , drop me a pm with a price and condition of item im sure we can come to an agreement on it ( it will have most likley have been mine to start with like meeting an old friend again )
on a final note , those who know me , know im not a little fellow , 6ft 2inch 16 stone ( lumbering great ox ) i will , i hope , see you all at detling , where i shall be shopping my bloody socks off !
cheers all , kurt

I shall look through my kit to see what (if any) spares I may have.
Re Detling, no we are not attending that event. We were going to be limited on digging in, treeline scenario etc so decided against it. We are attending a wee little event called Military Mayhem (which is similar in size to the Bunker Bash I believe) the week before Detling. Come over to see us if your not busy that w/e.
Hope we can help you big fella.
Cheers
Nick

sorry kalten , the victory show is a no go for me , im having a bit of a break from reenacting at the moment , and trying to decide which way to go in my reenacting career , British ( hot itchy uniform ) , Russian ( cool uniform , scruffy ) , or back to German ( the only uniform that looked right on me ) i am going to audley end at the end of august with recce ( lha) to see if i like it . its not an easy decision , but im starting to get the German itch . ( blast that hamburg girl ! ) if only the german units did a mass cooking on open fire bit !
you could always pm me the details if you want .
cheers , kurt .

When you have made your mind up about which direction you want to take, let us know, and we will see what we can help you with. No point in doing so until you are sure what you want to do. Hope to see you in the Fedlgrau next year.
Cheers

hi nick , i will be getting my uniform from richard Underwood at detling , i think the way things are in recce airborne at the moment it would be best not to renew next year , as for 2nd guards , i feel i have had my fun with them , don't get me wrong , they are a fantastic bunch , but i have lost the interest in soviet reenacting , even if the uniform is cool and comfortable.
i will talk to ray at detling about my plans so he is in the loop and not too surprised .
i will start getting my over engineered German kit together , and if its OK with the high ranking GD officer and NCO`s i will make the switch very early next year . leaving two groups will mean i will have to sell stacks of soviet and British kit ( and weapons ) this will help with buying the gear i need .
i do feel that going back to reenacting german is the way i need to go . ( i blame kalten for this , keep coming over for food , and calling me kurt )
cheers , kurt .

As long as you are sure that's what you want to do. I wouldn't want anyone to join PFRGD unless they felt it was right for them. Our ethos that I would want to re-iterate to all members is that this unit is about enjoyment and being with like minded friends.
Anyone who has the right, positive attitiude, and is a doer will be welcome in this unit, and I know that you will bring that to our little band. Looking forward to sharing a foxhole with you again sometime next year mate....
Weiter So!

i always enjoyed a good trench system , bunker , even a small foxhole , and it would be good to see old faces again ( kalten ) i will purchase a nice large shovel so i can dig a nice bunker with veranda , conservatory and barbecue area , cold schnapps on tap , and maybe some vodka , i take it you lads do partake of the falling down water in the evenings ?
hope to see you all soon . kurt .
