It has taken three years but my OT-810 conversion into a SdKfz251 D is complete. Here are some recent pics. There are many more on my website www.sdkfz251.com.
Thanks for your post, well it certainly was worth the three years hard labour! Your OT certainly looks the part.
We need to push our OT on to the next stage, which with a little effort (and investment) would see ours not too dissimilar to yours. Certainly wets the appetite to push ours on to the finish.
Nice to have met you back in May. Hopefully we will catch up again next year. All the best to you and the boys in 7 Kompanie!

First, thanks ever so for taking the trouble to post on this thread - nice to have others to chat to on what was becoming a lonely quest.....
Thanks!
That is one superb conversion! I am particularly impressed with the attention to detail paid within the interior, correct seats, back panels, tarpaulin rods, and that strange little contraption that looks like it's designed for holding coke cups, but as you know is for holding the 'plastic' window that would fit into the rear of the erected canvas roof.
Just goes to show what a little tlc, money and a willingness to succeed can achieve.
Well done Geoff - something to be real proud of there!
*the necessary financial resources
*hired a shop that specialized in armoured vehicles, that had incredible talent
*lots of patience
*I took the time to research how things should be done (the best
source of information is the book "Sdkfz251 in Detail"
*and fellow halftrack owners, some around the world, who assisted me with information.
*one owner gave me a source for the gun shield, gun mount, fenders, exhaust and some internal parts (this source is now gone, he no longer makes them).
*found a vendor that copied the original Dunkelgelb base paint
But no project is complete, is it. I am still working on getting tyres (tires) with the original Wehrmacht style tread and need to have a canvas top made.
Yes, all the SPW photos are from the October event in the Michaux State Forest, we called it the ultimate event. Here are a couple of you tube movies of it.
