Hallo,

Many thanks to Bauer for setting up this new OT-810 section.

Many Axis re-enactment groups around the world own these SdKfz 251 'look-a-likes', as the real things are quite rare and correspondingly expensive.

The PFRGD OT-810 offers group members a taste of life as an armoured infantryman, quite a different experience from those 'foot-sloggers' who carried their kit around with them much the same as the Roman Legions two thousand years before. The German armoured Infantry of WW2 were a new breed of soldier, especially equipped and trained to accompany tanks into battle in fast moving, aggressive actions that epitomised the title 'Blitzkrieg'.

As our group has consolidated over the past few months, time and space is now available to concentrate on getting the PFRGD OT-810 ready for action again. Some parts have been sourced, other parts have yet to be located, and it is hoped that this new section of the forum will enable us, and others, to research, discuss and share information relating to this vehicle.

To give some idea of the OT-810 and the original wartime vehicle that it was based on, I can do no better that direct you to the website of our friend Geoff Pohanka of 7.Kompanie GD USA: www.sdkfz251.com

Geoff has been most supportive with information and contacts, and has expressed interest in our effort to glean further information on the OT-810 and its conversion into a SdKfz 251.

As this section grows, it is hoped that further contacts, parts and information can be located, traded and shared, thus easing what can be the slow, frustrating and expensive process of learning how to 'look after' a OT-810!

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Herr Leutnant

I cannot take the credit for setting this section up, the credit goes to our excellent webmeister.

This is a topic that will gain in momentum over the coming weeks and months and will need some commitment to if we are to utilise the excellent asset that the OT810 is.

All the best.
