Hi there,
I am looking into buying a World War Two German bicycle . Am I looking to spend a few hundred pounds? Or the cheaper option it to go for a Swiss one and convert it. Can anyone give me any pointers on either of the above?
Thanks,
Nathan

Hi Nathan
Could I ask how you are getting on putting your "basic" impression together? It's just that I would suggest that before you start spending money on items such as this, you could purchase your canteen and other basic items that you require to facilitate your infantryman impression.
Clearly, it is your decision and your money, but that would be my advice.

Hi Bauer,
Your right, I should really.
I'll go see R.A.U at the Royal GunPowder Mill's and buy as much as I can with the money I've got. Things like a Canteen (I have a mis-matched mess kit-would a soldier have has a mis-matched mess kit during the war?), gas mask and canister an original bayonet and K98 ammo pouches etc etc.
Thanks for the advice,
Nathan

Hi Nathan
Not a problem, I don't want to dissuade you from an exciting idea you have, but once you have your full kit together you will be pleased that you have done so.
Re the mis-matching messtin, I really don't think that you should be too worried about that. I would guess in reality that a soldier would have invariably mislaid an item, and "made it good" by replacing it however possible. He would have wanted to eat!
I shall look into the other items you need and see what I can do.
PS - Have you tried FX re the items you require? _________________ Unteroffizier Bauer

Hi Nathan
When I meant try FX, I meant re buying the items you still require, rather than asking to borrow them.
Have you tried him to see if he has the items you need - may be cheaper than Richard? _________________ Unteroffizier Bauer

Hi Bauer,
I am still going to buy the truppenfahrrad (it's all original German made by the Torpedo Werke) It's got the correct box and rack. Overall I am very pleased with my buy (I am getting it in about a week). £300.00, which I think was a fair price .
I am sill going to the R.GP.M's and going to see Richard (FX and Richard.A.U work out about the same on prices I have found). It seems FX and I have fallen-out with eachother over this bike . We both have different views on what to get first, basics or truppenfahrrad. I don't need to say what I thought .
Anyway we are still friends (I think-Hope ).
Thanks,
Nathan

|

Hi there,
As most of you know I now have an original TruppenFahrrad. It's an early war bike that been done as a late war bike by someone who has had it post-war. It has the large military rack and box. Parts that were silver are now black.
I would like to add the two PanzerFaust('s) to the bike. The rack and box are removable so the clips and hooks for the PanzerFaust('s) are going to be made so that they can be removed. So when I would like it to be early war I can just take them off.
I am now looking for two good replica PanzerFaust 60's. FX has one for sale but just the one, I need two the same.
Does anyone know of two good replica PanzerFaust 60's for sale?
Thanks,
Nathan
