Ok I'm slowly getting my kit together and had the following questions Does the group permit
M43 trousers?
Trousers tucket into sock, folded over the boots instead of gaiters (this can be seen on original GD pics).
The use of civilian shirts and neckerchiefs under tunics instead of regulation issue shirts.
The wear of summer uniforms (green HBT).
Camouflage smocks - yes/no/maybe?
Cheers guys,
Anselm
Hi Anselm
We are just in the process of updating our uniform regulations, which remain aimed at providing a generic/uniform mid to late war look. If you look at most of our photos you will see that we try and ensure a Feldgrau portrayal, with little camo involved. In answer to your questions;
M43 trousers? Yes Trousers tucket into sock, folded over the boots instead of gaiters (this can be seen on original GD pics). Yes, this look can be seen in "God, Honour, Fatherland" but is an exception, rather than a rule. As such we prefer gaiters. The use of civilian shirts and neckerchiefs under tunics instead of regulation issue shirts. No, service shirts I'm afraid and neckchiefs are used very sparingly. The wear of summer uniforms (green HBT). We do, but they have to be a high quality, and accepted by our Authenticity Officer. We would prefer woolen tunic and trousers first. Camouflage smocks - yes/no/maybe? No, this has been revisited recently, and we do not permit smocks at all (previously we did on a sparingly basis). Zeltbahn is the camo of choice, where appropriate.
Sorry if that comes across as a little draconian, but the high standards we attain, are driven by our strict authenticity guidelines. We try to portray a typical German infantry look, and believe that this is best served by ensuring uniformity.
Thanks

Brilliant, no problems at all. I didn't like the idea of camo smocks anyway HBT's were just an idea for the warm summer months. Gaiters I have allready along with service shirt so no worries there.
