I am after an original watch. I think F.X has 2 watches for sale, one for £220 and one for £150. They are both O.K looking and would look good. The two things bothering me... 1.The price 2.The risk ...I don't want to pay £150 (the Junghans watch) and then fall over at an event and break it . What should I do? Buy it and be careful
All the best , Nathan

Don't spend your money on something like this. It is highly unlikely that an enlisted man would have a military watch. Such things were issued to officers as I understand it, or perhaps even privately purchased at what would have been great expense. The other ranks would have had (if at all) civilian wrist watches or perhaps the older fob-pocket watches of their father's generation.
Get yourself to an antiques market and have a mooch around for a period looking watch, cheaper and probably more authentic.
